AquaTek ™ X1 Universal Water Soluble Carrier Filament

AquaTek ™ X1 is an all new advanced water soluble universal backing material formulated specifically for printing complex parts. AquaTek ™ X1 is readily soluble in hot water and exhibits excellent adhesion to the widest range of materials - including our popular advanced composite materials CarbonX ™ Carbon Fiber Nylon and AmideX ™ Glass Fiber Nylon.

AquaTek ™ X1 Attributes:

  • Easily soluble in hot water
  • Environmentally friendly - safe disposal in home or office sewer
  • Ideal support material for the greatest number
  • Low moisture absorption when exposed during printing (less sticky over time)

Compatible materials:

AquaTek ™ X1 is compatible as a water soluble carrier for the widest variety of materials including PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, nylon and Flexibe grades (TPC, TPU, COPE). This includes the composite variants of these qualities like carbon fiber, fiberglass, and ESD resistant materials.

Filament specifications:

  • 1.75mm +/- 0.05mm
  • 2.85 mm +/- 0.05 mm

Recommended printing conditions:

  • Extruder: 190-220 ° C
  • Bed temperature: 60-90 ° C
  • Chamber temperature: up to 120 ° C if your printer is equipped
  • Storage: AquaTek ™ X1 will absorb ambient moisture, so best practice is to store the filament in a sealed container between uses.

Recommended techniques for removing supports:

  • Eliminate easily accessible surplus support - reduce dissolution time (more support = more time to dissolve)
  • Submerge a part in hot water. Hot tap water is typically 100-120 ° F; 38-49 ° C, which is more than enough to dissolve AquaTek ™ X1 (be careful with hot water!)
  • Stirring the water reduces the dissolution time (sonic or mechanical stirring)
  • Heat or replace hot water when it gets cold if the bracket has not been removed
  • Residues are harmless to the environment and can be disposed of in the home or office sewer. Rinse sewers thoroughly with hot water to ensure sewage disposal
